Service Update Weather Related Modifications

Jan 28, 2026

Due to ongoing challenges safely navigating city streets following recent snowfall, the Butler Transit Authority (BTA) will implement the following temporary service changes through Monday, February 2, 2026. Conditions will be re-evaluated at that time to determine whether additional areas can safely resume service.

As previously communicated, many city streets have been reduced to a single lane and are too narrow for buses to operate safely. Additionally, accumulated snow at intersections is limiting buses’ ability to make safe turns.

Service Changes Effective January 29 through February 2, 2026

Route 1 Temporary Stop Modifications:

o   Franklin and Brady will pick up at North & Brady

o   Penn and Franklin will pick up at North & Franklin

o   Penn & Chestnut will pick up at Jefferson & Chestnut

o   Brady & Chestnut will pick up at Jefferson & Chestnut

o   Bluff & Penn will pick up at Jefferson & Chestnut

·         Route 2 remains suspended due to extremely narrow streets that do not allow for safe bus operation.

·         Route 3 Service Impacts:

o   The following stops cannot be serviced:

§  Grapevine Center

§  Franklin & Brady

§  Lumar Village

§  Pearl @ Second

§  Carbon @ Third

o   Butler Medical Associates stop will be on Route 8

o   Brady & McKean is now North & McKean

o   Main & Brady is now North & Main

·         Commuter service

o   All commuter routes will be fully restored and operating normally

Please note that service delays or additional modifications may occur as conditions change. Safety remains our first priority.

Passengers are encouraged to check for updates at butlertransit.com before traveling and to allow extra time for their trip.
