Draft in Pittsburgh

The Butler Transit Authority (BTA) announced today that it will provide transportation services in coordination with Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) for draft activities in Pittsburgh from April 23–25.

BTA will operate service from its Park & Ride lot located at 150 Lindsay Road, Zelienople, PA 16063 (Route 528 Park & Ride). Conveniently situated just off I-79 and Route 19, the lot offers approximately 350 parking spaces.

Buses will run between the Route 528 Park & Ride and PRT’s Ross Park & Ride lot along I-279. Upon arrival, passengers will transfer to a PRT bus for service into downtown Pittsburgh and the draft event areas. Service between the two Park & Ride locations will operate every 30 minutes, while connecting PRT service from Ross Park & Ride will run approximately every 15-30 minutes. Schedule is below.

After transferring to PRT service, passengers may utilize the following stops in Pittsburgh:

• Logan Street at Centre Avenue (near PPG Paints Arena) – pickup location
• Ross Street PRTX Station (Fifth Avenue Bus Rapid Transit lane)
• William Penn Place PRTX Station (Fifth Avenue BRT lane)
• Market Street PRTX Station (Fifth Avenue BRT lane)
• Stanwix Street at Penn Avenue Place (farside) – primary stop for access to Point State Park draft activities and Gateway Station light rail service
• Federal Street at West General Robinson Street – the only North Shore stop, located approximately 1.5 blocks from the draft campus and near the North Shore “T” station

For the return trip, BTA passengers should board buses displaying the headsign: “99N McCandless – Ross Park & Ride Football Flyer.”

BTA will utilize 45-foot ADA-accessible commuter buses with seating for 46–54 passengers. Standing is not permitted.

Roundtrip fare is $10 per day and will be collected on a first-come, first-served basis onboard the bus. Exact cash fare is required. Passengers must retain their pass, as it will be required for boarding PRT buses and for the return trip to the Route 528 Park & Ride.

Please note that regular commuter service for Routes 3 and 4 will not operate on Thursday, April 23, or Friday, April 24. Routes 1 and 2 will operate as scheduled on those days.
