Evening Bus Ridership Breaks Record

The Butler Transit Authority is pleased to announce its Night Owl evening bus service has broken a ridership record. Ridership for the month of July increased 15.5% from July 2010.
The Night Owl service began in November of 2003 with special funding from the Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) Program. It saw a little over 1,000 passenger trips in its first month. Now, 8 years later ridership has increased 262% with over 4,200 passenger trips for the month of July 2011.
Daylight bus ridership is also increasing. The Authority saw a 4% increase in daylight ridership between July 2010 and July 2011.
