Separate sealed Bids for the Work as listed hereinafter will be received at the Butler Transit Authority, 130 Hollywood Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter at the same address. Sealed bid shall be addressed to

The Work of this project includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment to construct Transit Center Modifications for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by the following multiple Prime Contracts:

General Construction Contract BTA-17-01G
HVAC Construction Contract BTA-17-01H
Electrical Construction Contract BTA-17-01E

Bid Documents will be available electronically and for public inspection on or after January 23, 2017. The documents may be viewed at the Butler Transit Authority, 130 Hollywood Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Bid Documents may be picked for a $25 cost at the Butler Transit Authority offices. Each set of bid documents contains all contracts and will be provided on CD-ROM in PDF format. Checks shall be made payable to the Butler Transit Authority (BTA).

A pre-bid meeting, including project area tour, will be held on January 30, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Butler Transit Authority, 130 Hollywood Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Bidders’ proposals must be accompanied by either a certified check, certified bank treasurer’s check, bank cashier’s check or bid bond in the form provided herein. A satisfactory corporate surety shall provide security in an amount of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid submitted.

Notice is hereby given that the project for which construction bids are being solicited hereby is a project constituting public works with Federal Transit Administration. The bidder recognizes the procurement requirements of the Federal Transit Administration, including but not limited to FTA Circular 4220.1F and any and all other applicable Federal and State requirements as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

BTA, in compliance with 49 C.F.R., Part 26, as amended, implements positive affirmative action procedures to ensure that all Disadvantaged Business Enterprises have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts and subcontracts financed, in whole or in part, with federal funds provided for this Project. In this regard, all Bidders shall take all necessary and reasonable steps in accordance with 49 C.F.R., Part 26, to ensure that DBE’s have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform contracts. Bidders shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin or sex in the award and performance of DOT-assisted contracts.  It is a condition of this Contract that all Bidders shall follow the DBE required procedures as set forth in the Bid Documents.
